What We Believe

The trinity

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

(2 Corinthians 13:14)

-God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Jesus Christ is God and is the Son of God. He is completely God and completely man. The Holy Spirit is God and is the Giver of Life. He is also the seal on our hearts guaranteeing our Salvation

The Bible

Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about but the prophet's own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
(2 Peter 1:20-21)

-We believe the Bible is the only infallible, inspired Word of God. It's authority is ultimate, final and eternal. It is the single source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof and is the all-inclusive guidebook on how to practically live a godly life

Salvation is a free gift

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

(1 Peter 2:24-25)

-God created mankind to have fellowship with Him, but sin separated us. As a result we need God's saving grace to end our separation from Him. He died on a cross, took on the sins of mankind and took our place of punishment. This salvation is free gift- we can do nothing to earn it.

Believers can be spirit filled and Spirit led

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.

(Acts 1:8)

-The Holy Spirit is the Giver of Life. When we accept Jesus as Savior, He breathes life into our dead spirit, imparting life to us. From that moment on, He dwells within us. Jesus himself also speaks of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which is a greater filling of Him which releases power into the life of the believer

What We Believe

We are called to be light

You are the light of the world...Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

(Matthew 5:14,16)

-In John 8, Jesus calls Himself the Light of the World, yet he also calls his followers the light of the world. Practically this means we are given Jesus' light to impact the world around us. We believe that we get to be light locally and globally and are intently committed to both.

Water Baptism

Be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

(Acts 2:38)

-Water baptism is the outward sign of the salvation work God does in our lives. It's a visible representation of an inward work. In scripture, baptism is always by immersion, so that is how we do it at Freedom.

Communion

This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me...This cup is the new covenant in  my blood. Drink this in remembrance of me.

(1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

The bread represents the body of Jesus broken for us and the cup represents the shed blood of Jesus poured out for us. We take it to remember the sacrifice He made for us and that we are now alive in Him.

Jesus is coming back

For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever.

(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

- We believe Jesus will come again to bring home all those who have trusted Him. We will be raised with Him into glory and will reign with Him for eternity.

5 Values of Freedom Fellowship

1. GOD'S WORD:

We value God's Word and the authority that comes with it. It is it still applicable and relevant for today and has the answers we need for our lives.

2. GOD'S PRESENCE:

We value God's presence. It's in His presence where there is fullness of joy. It's in His presence where we experience God's heart and it's in His presence where we are ultimately changed.

3. PEOPLE:

People are at the very heart of God and since people are so important to God, people are important to us! We believe that everyone is created in the image of God and everyone has a divine, God given purpose for their lives.

4. SERVING:

Saved people, serve people!! We value serving others; because Jesus came to serve, not be served. We whole heartedly follow His example.

5. EXCELLENCE:

We believe in giving our best. Excellence isn't perfection, but its getting close to the mark. From our facilities, to our ministries we want to present the very best of who we are to God.
